Programs & Consulting

The mission of MarlonMentors is to seek to understand how people communicate. We perform this via probing questions to unearth pain points so that you better understand your relational value, and this fosters an environment to provide customized solutions. In short, sharper decision-making skill sets become an asset as we are an accumulation of our choices. The good news is we can change them when/where necessary. We quite literally “zero in on your zone of genius” (your purpose, your superpowers and more).

1. Intro to Emotional Intelligence

Students learn and master EQ Skills via repetitive formats to foster better decision-making skills around majors, class selection, exams, presentations, and career aspirations. The bottom line is to have a true baseline to help you consider others within your thought process and socially engage your peers and professors while strengthening your mental and emotional acuity. Teamwork is synonymous with relationship building.

2. Job Interviewing

To assist students in mastering the varying types of interviews and to further understand the nuances of differing interviewing styles:

Traditional: One-on-one conversation with an interviewer asking questions around qualifications, experience, and background.

Panel Interview: Multiple interviewers asking questions specific to their expertise and overall company knowledge.

Technical Interview: Technical roles, where the interviewee may need to solve problems for the role.

Remote Interviews: Telephonic/Video. All interviews will most likely contain behavioral questions.

3. Negotiations

Teaching students the differences between Bargaining and Negotiating as they are not the same. Give-and-take is critical, but factors shaping the negotiation happen prior to the negotiation, or help describe or create the format around the negotiation. Bargaining doesn’t necessarily require a relationship between the parties.

  • Bargaining describes competitive win-lose situations.
  • Negotiating refers to win-win situations.

Corporate Programs

Through interactive activities and discussions, attendees will learn how to add texture and storytelling techniques such as knowing your audience, engaging them, and staying on task.

The workshop(s) will also cover strategies for handling opposing views and when and how to answer the audience’s questions; not all questions need to be answered right away. By the end of the workshop(s), participants will have the tools and confidence needed to effectively demonstrate their emotional intelligence during presentations and beyond.
